BULPROS signs the Memorandum for promoting Varna as a “City of Knowledge”

Varna, August – BULPROS is one of the leading companies which has signed the Memorandum of cooperation with universities and the industry for promoting Varna as a City of Knowledge, initiated and hosted by the Mayor of Varna Ivan Portnih. By investing in production and services based on knowledge and innovation the city aims to stimulate growth and create jobs with high productivity and income.
The Memorandum of Varna Municipality is dedicated to strengthening the collaboration between the community stakeholders. Its main goal is to make the city green and modernized as well as to reinforce its technological position in the fields of IT, transport, tourism, medicine and the maritime industry. This initiative is supported by major educational institutions in Varna, science institutes and key industry players. These ambitious plans for the technological development of Varna and Northeastern Bulgaria include the establishment of a high-tech Industrial Zone near Aksakovo and an Innovation Quarter in the area "Little Seagull", along with a new modern math-tech campus and a brand new building for the High School of Mathematics. As part of the initiative, the IT sector will work on digital solutions and create a center for supporting smart and green cities in Northern Bulgaria, promoting knowledge and developing the skills of young and active talents.
“We are glad to sign the Memorandum and support Varna in its goal to become a green and modernized city. I believe that the collaboration between the city authorities, business and local educational institutions is the right strategy for further development of the city and the region. BULPROS has always been actively promoting Bulgaria as a destination for technological investments and innovation on a global scale. The development of all major cities in Bulgaria plays a vital role in building this image. Despite the difficult pandemic times, Varna is taking a huge step in the right direction and BULPROS is committed to support it.” said Ivaylo Slavov, CEO of BULPROS.
“I believe that the memorandum provides a great foundation for the business and education in Varna. About 30,000 students study in Varna’s six universities and the pupils from the High School of Mathematics are among the best in the country. In these difficult times it is essential to focus on the development of young people as much as possible. Their knowledge, skills and innovative ideas will allow us to attract various international companies to invest in the region. BULPROS embraces the initiative with open arms and I believe that together we can turn Varna into a city of knowledge that supports the development of young talents.” commented Deyan Peychev, Business Development Manager for Eastern Bulgaria at BULPROS.
Both major maritime cities – Burgas and Varna are an important part of the BULPROS global location delivery strategy. We are planning to further extend our presence in the cities and actively participate in the social and educational initiatives as well as support the development of the IT sector.
