Burgas, April - Burgas Free University welcomes Ivaylo Slavov, CEO of BULPROS, as a member of its Board of Trustees. Slavov and BULPROS have been collaborating closely with educational institutions for years to support the development of young talents and build a solid bridge between institutions and business.
Slavov was proposed by the Chairman Prof. Dr Petko Chobanov and the Board supported his membership unanimously. The successful entrepreneur is a member of key industry and business organizations and has won several CEO of the Year recognitions.
“The continuous growth of the IT industry in Burgas, the promotion of the city as a great place to live and work and the collaboration with educational institutions have been in focus for BULPROS over the past years. In our world of dynamic shifts and rapid technological transformations, we can accelerate the growth of both cities and industry through close cooperation between companies and institutions. And as one of the foundations of society, education is key to developing capable and motivated professionals who will drive progress and success. I truly believe that Burgas has the potential to become a modern education and knowledge hub for technology that will empower the IT industry in the city and attract investments” shared Slavov.
Educational initiatives are one of the pillars of BULPROS’ corporate social activities. The company participated in the establishment and supports the development of the "Professional High School of Computer Programming and Innovation" in Burgas to help students explore their potential and acquire practical skills. As part of a valuable exchange of knowledge and experience, the company has already carried out successful joint activities with the Burgas Free University, the University "Prof. Dr Asen Zlatarov" and the Technological School of Electronic Systems (TUES) in Sofia. Furthermore, BULPROS frequently partners with the “Chance for the Children and the Nature of Bulgaria Foundation” and the Center for young talents in Burgas to organize internships, open doors day, book donations and other activities. For instance, BULPROS invited young IT-enthusiasts from the project “Programing with Scratch and Python” at the Center for Young Talents to visit the company office and explore the world of IT. For the “Donate a Book – Give Knowledge” campaign by the Foundation and the Center, BULPROS employees from all Bulgarian offices collected books to donate and bring the magical world of reading to children. The company also organized traineeships for the students from the Foundation for five consecutive years. Guided by mentors, the trainees had the opportunity to participate in two projects that allowed them to apply their knowledge, build up their skills, meet talented professionals and experience real business cases.
Last year, BULPROS opened its second office in Burgas, which was especially selected for its modern location and the innovative and comfortable working spaces. The company sees great potential for further expansion of its business activities in Burgas. In this context, it supported the campaign "Back to Burgas" by the Municipality of Burgas, which aims to bring professionals back to the city and to promote it as an attractive place to live and work.
